Ticket Office Consultation

Train operators are proposing changes to the way they sell tickets at stations.
The railway companies nationwide, through their industry body the Rail Delivery Group, have announced proposals to close almost all ticket offices at railway stations throughout the country including Wellington and Telford Central. They propose that new ticket vending machines at stations will sell every type of ticket available at the appropriate price for the days and times of travel.
This is not acceptable and yet again demonstrates their wanton disregard for senior citizens and those with a disability, particularly wheelchair users who will find it difficult to reach the machines, and anyone who needs help which they currently get from the staff in the ticket offices. Screens situated outside can also be very difficult to read when the sun is shining on them.
