Governance

Forum 50+ is a registered charity and a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The Charity is registered as the Telford & Wrekin Senior Citizens Forum (charity reg no 1153586) and Forum 50+ is a working name.

The Forum is managed by a Board of Trustees elected from its membership. It has a wider voting membership of people over 50 living in Telford & Wrekin and some surrounding areas. It employs a full time Co-ordinator and a part time Community Link Worker.

Annual General Meetings

Forum 50+ holds an Annual General Meeting in September/October. The AGM 2020 didn’t take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in line with a Charity Commission ruling at the time.

The AGM 2021 took place on Monday 11th October 2021.

We are accountable to:

  • Funding Bodies,
  • Legislation and good practice pertaining to Equality & Diversity, Adult Safeguarding, Privacy and Data Protection, Health & Safety, Financial management and staff and volunteer management.

Our Finances

We are currently funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund from September 2021 to August 2024 and Telford & Wrekin Council’s Capacity Building Fund for the period September 2021 to August 2022. The annual accounts are normally reviewed at our Annual General Meeting in the autumn and are available on the Charity Commission website, (search using our registration number 1153586)
