300 million inkjets are sold in Europe per year. Only 15% of all inkjets sold are re-manufactured.
45 million cartridges end up in landfill in the UK.
Cartridges can take up to 1000 years to decompose. The lifespan of ink cartridges can be optimised by reusing & recycling them as many times as possible. Recycling plastic takes 88% less energy than making plastic from raw materials.
You can help raise money for the Forum and also reduce the amount of cartridges that end up in landfill. Bring along your used cartridges to any Forum event or activity, including computer sessions, social groups, exercise classes. We can then send these off for recycling and in turn, money will be paid into our account.
Please note that toner/laser and Compatible Ink Cartridges (those not made by printer companies) are not accepted as part of the programme. Any damaged ink cartridges will also not generate a charity donation.
